When Jade wants to marry German (who has genuine affection for her, but also needs his money because of her family’s bankruptcy), Violetta makes Machiavellian deals with her in order to protect her. However, as a result of her actions, she becomes ill and dies. The sounds of a carnival summon false hopes of Alfredo’s return, but Germont arrives to reveal her sacrifice and give her his blessing.

This show is different from the typical Disney TV series because it has the drama of a telenovela and the energy of a dance program. It also tackles some tough topics, such as domestic violence and sexual abuse. Parents and tweens can discuss some of the themes in this show and how they might relate to their own families’ situations. They can also talk about some of the family rules and why they might be established. Families can also talk about body image and how the show presents the characters’ bodies in a positive light. There are no explicit scenes of sex, but the show does portray some tween sex and some kissing.
